Why People Don’t Trust Internet Marketers
Hey Everybody!
Thanks for all those who signed up to the forum. We are only 3 away from our goal of 300 members and it is only noon Sunday so I am going to go out on a limb here and say we will reach our goal and my daughter is going to get her Daddy back next weekend. Thanks for that!
Anyway, I was reviewing some niche products that I could recommend to you guys to promote and was actually looking into one program for one of my coaching clients and bought the ebook to review it for him.
The sales page was pretty good and the idea solid and interesting. This WILL sell. So I bought the book to check it out.
It was 100 pages long and the first 80 pages had nothing to do with what this book was supposed to teach you, total filler you could get anywhere online for free. Once I did get to that part (just 15 pages) it did not teach you anything, it just kind of summed up the concept. The last 5 pages went off on another topic, huh?
Anyway, this was horrible and a real shame so I wrote to the product owner and told him who I was and that I was looking for products my affiliates could promote and how could he in good concience sell this ridiculous program… in a nice way of course. This was his response.
“Thank you for contacting us and your feedback. As long as it sells and the refund rate is low (and it is low - im sure you can calculate this to verify) we have no problem with it even if it was just half a page of relevant info.
You seem to be very experienced in IM, therefore you should already know that most of clickbank products (including top products) are crap.
Anyways, I have to agree with you, 15 pages does not seem to be a lot but we focus a lot on the marketing - instead of the actual ebook content. (WHAT?) Would we like to improve the actual book and add as much content as we can? Yes we do! and we will do so as soon as possible. But for now, the book is 15 pages which are the core system - more will be added at a later stage. So far we have a climbing gravity of 20 in less than a month, and a refund rate of 5%.
Again, my personal opinion about a product is not important, as long as it sells and the refund rate is acceptable - its well and good (and im sure you agree with me as well on this) ”
Actually no, I DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS AT ALL!!!
As long as it sells and the refund rate is acceptable he doesn’t really worry about whether the content actually shows you what the sales page promises?
Am I just an idiot or something? Maybe got my head in the sand and crazy to expect the book to contain value for the money people just paid?
He is openly admitting his book is crap and doesn’t care. He admits it does not teach you anything and as long as most people are lazy and don’t return it, he is cool with that.
This person is complete scum in my book and the fact that he assumes everyone would agree with him who makes a living in Internet Marekting, paints a pretty clear picture of why a lot of folks don’t trust us.
Please, please promise you won’t act this way. It is one thing to sell an idea or program that may or may not work for everyone but the information is complete and factual compared to putting together a product with no intention of providing information of any value what so ever, an outright scam!
I am so happy that I have somehow attracted to my team some of the most honest, caring and sincere people I have ever met. We may not become millionaires ripping people off but at least we can sleep at night and if we do things the right way, the money will come.
Thanks guys, now go do the right thing!
